AORE is requesting members to review the newly released draft of the Wilderness First Responder Scope of Practices document. Please support this extremely important effort and show the wilderness medical community that the AORE has a vested interest in the outcomes of these new course SOP’s. Mitch is the Program Director for The Center for Outdoor Adventure, at the University of Minnesota where he has worked since 2001. He also instructs rock climbing courses for the School of Kinesiology, serves on the Recreational Sports Advisory Board and is currently planning the AORE 2009 Conference in Minneapolis. He has attended AORE since 1998 and has been an active presenter many of those years. Mitch is passionate about the outdoors and loves working with and developing student leaders in the field of outdoor recreation. In his free time he enjoys climbing rock and ice, cross country skiing, canoeing, running and spending time with his wife, Brandi.
He obtained a Bachelors degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Leisure Services, and a Masters degree from Middle Tennessee State
University in Recreation Administration.
