Jeff Turner, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Outdoor Education in the Department of Kinesiology at GCSU. Jeff has taught at Georgia College since 2002. He teaches a variety of skill and theory courses for graduate and undergraduate students preparing for professional work in outdoor education.
Dr. Turner received his Ph.D. in Recreation and Leisure Studies from the University of Georgia. His research and consulting interests focus on the role of the physical and social environment in adventure education programs as well as teaching and learning in outdoor education academic programs. He has presented numerous times at international and regional conferences and currently serves as a reviewer for two professional journals.
When Jeff’s not spending time with his wife (Stephanie) and son (Will); he’s likely on the river in his open boat or working in his garden.
