AORE is requesting members to review the newly released draft of the Wilderness First Responder Scope of Practices document. Elizabeth Andre
Northland College
|
Elizabeth is an Assistant Professor of Outdoor and Environmental Education at Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin. She also instructs and course directs for Outward Bound Wilderness and for the University of Montana’s Wild Rockies Field Institute.
Education:
· B.A. Iowa State University
· M.A. in Outdoor Education; Griffith University, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
· Ph.D. candidate in Curriculum & Instruction of Science & Environmental Education; University of Minnesota
Her academic and professional interests focus on designing outdoor experiences to enhance environmental outcomes. She believes in the potential of the fields of Outdoor Recreation and Outdoor Education to develop environmental sensitivity in participants & to model environmental stewardship in practice.
Elizabeth developed environmental education materials for the Will Steger Foundation’s Global Warming 101 Arctic expeditions and for National Geographic explorer Jon Bowermaster’s Oceans 8: Antarctica expedition. She also participated as a team member in the Will Steger Foundation’s 2007 Baffin Island dogsled expedition.
She loves whitewater canoeing in her OC-1. She also backpacks, xc-skis, climbs, and sea kayaks.
