The University of Minnesota – Twin Cities is excited to be the host of AORE 2009. The Twin Cities campus, which comprises over 50,000 students, is located in the heart of the downtown Minneapolis district along the banks of the Mississippi River. All conference sessions will take place on campus at the Radisson University Hotel and Coffman Memorial Union. Lodging
The conference hotel, The Radisson University Hotel, has given conference attendees an amazing flat rate of $109.00 for any occupancy. Amenities in the hotel include and on-site Starbucks, the cozy University Lounge, Applebees restaurant, a gift shop, free wireless internet access, a fitness center, and much more. Conference Site
Coffman Memorial Union, located on the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities campus, was renovated in the Fall of 2002. Coffman Union’s “Great Hall” will be home to the Vendor Hall as well as many of the conference meeting facilities. Additionally, Coffman Union boasts a 400 seat theatre that will be used for specific conference meetings and sessions. More meeting space is available at the Radisson University Hotel, only 1.5 blocks from Coffman Union.
Coffman Union is also host to some great late night programming and activities including movies and film festivals, bowling, live music, pool, board and arcade games, and more. Visit the Student Unions and Activities page to view more information about Coffman Memorial Union.
Sports and Recreation Facilities

The University of Minnesota Recreation Center (URC) is located in the heart of the Minneapolis campus and lies directly north of the conference hotel. Conference attendees are encouraged to stop by the URC whenever time permits for a workout, bouldering, swimming, or general recreation. Other notable buildings and facilities located near the University Recreation Center are McNamara Alumni Center, TCF Bank Stadium (football), Williams Arena (basketball), and Mariucci Arena (hockey). McNamara Alumni Center will be the host location for both the Super Social and Student Auction.
Conference attendees are also encouraged to visit the St. Paul Gymnasium, renovated in 1998 and the recent winner of the 2002 Outstanding Facility by the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association. Also new to the St. Paul Gymnasium is a new climbing and bouldering wall, completed in the fall of 2008 by Nicros.
