Research indicates that outdoor and experiential education positively impacts participants. By engaging our participants, clients and students in meaningful ways, we can help improve memory, fight depression and lower blood pressure. And while connection with each other and the world around us is critical to individual health and wellness, it similarly affects teams, organizations and communities.
That’s why the 2019 AORE-AEE Conference is intentionally designed to deliver diverse and inclusive learning and networking opportunities focused on health and wellness to nearly 1,200 outdoor and experiential education professionals who collectively design and deliver these dynamic experiences 365 days a year.
And while the care, safety, success, and well-being of participants will be a central theme, just as important is our own health and wellness and that of the communities in which we practice. It’s the reason your flight attendant urges you to put your Oxygen mask on before assisting others.
This conference experience, much like the experiences we create for our students and clients, will provide attendees with countless opportunities to lead, follow, experiment, innovate, explore and grow both personally and professionally as we reflect on the impact of our work on the ecosystem of life.
